If you ever want a gift - for someone else or yourself, this is the place to go. Every time I go in there I leave with something, even if I'm broke! Today, when I went in for a photo frame, Adam had three different sets of the most beautiful pottery mugs and teacups from HUSK in Melbourne. Also gorgeous handmade lamps (local) cushions, paintings that he makes himself, and quirky gifts like retro robots. I've bought jewellery, vases, toys, frames, soaps, handbags, cushions and many other items over the years. Salt and the Torquay bookshop (not the chain store, the real bookstore near the IGA) are the two best shops in Torquay by a long way. There's another store around the corner that is in a more prominent position and is larger, but they opened after Salt, and I don't like the fact that they appear to have taken many of Salt's ideas and stockists for themselves. I never shop there on principle!
