Salt Meats Cheese Mosman opens 7 days, offering lunch & dinner throughout the week and an extensive breakfast menu on weekends. Located in the heart of Mosman, this light filled restaurant & deli is the perfect place to enjoy a glass of Prosecco and savour the finest local and imported gourmet goods. This venue offers Salt Meats Cheese's signature flaming cheese wheel every Wednesday, as well as other weekly specials.
Having been to most of the outlets in the chain of restaurants, I found the Mosman store to be fresh and beautifully appointed. Little did I know it had undergone a recent refurbishment and had only reopened for business in the past couple of days. Gone is the deli, and in its place is a new pizza oven. There's a smart looking bar and it would be a great spot to enjoy a cocktail or two. Like the other stores, the food is great, and I found the service particularly friendly.
I love the familiarity of SMC & the delicious food offering, from the antipasto & cheeses to the pizzas and pastas. There is a little cafe/takeaway kiosk out the front so on this rather rushed occasion, I opt to have a sandwich, coffee & dessert here. The panini which was well toasted and filled with fior di latte, tomato & basil pesto tasted just like a caprese. Then I see the Ricotta Nutella cheesecake from Papa's. So indulgent & so good, perfect with a coffee which is a little disappointing. Whether your here for a proper lunch or a quick bite, its all delicious, especially when you have a sweet ending.
I can't believe we only realised this, but this place is part of Citibank' wine and dining program! Yep! Every time we eat here, we get a free bottle of wine because we have a Citibank credit card!
It makes me sad thinking about all the wine we have been missing out on, but there is plenty of time to make amends! At $43 a bottle, it is definitely a great incentive to come here for dinner, fresh pasta, papa's ricotta cheese cake and now, free wine... YES!
Arancini here is great and makes a perfect start to a nice relaxing dinner.
There are three varieties and they are crunchy on the outside and soft and creamy in the centre.
The pasta here is also delicious, crab tag alibi with shreds of zucchini and a light sauce. The other favourite is the sage and burnt butter ravioli, filled with a creamy centre.
