Salt Vine
535 Crown St
Surry Hills, NSW, 2010
This venue has a great vibe with beautiful decor throughout. It has black as the dominant colour and a touch of colourful ‘tiles’ on the pillar, bar and also the dining table located outside.
I’ve had several dishes and all were delicious.
My favourite dishes:
Syrian string cheese cigar: I love how they are crispy on the outside and cheesy on the inside. The flavours are distinctively tasty for sure.
Falafel: crispy and delicious.
Chargrilled barramundi: barramundi is perfectly cooked. The combination of tahini dressing and walnut butter, pickled chilli and coriander is just perfect.
Grilled scotch fillet: oh wow, love this combination of merguez spices, carrot puree and paprika butter. The highlight for me is definitely the paprika butter. One-of-a-kind deliciousness.
For dessert I had the Baklava ice cream. The combination of flavours and textures are amazing. Crispy baklava pastry and delicious ice cream served with lots of pistachios, divine!

Crown St, Surry Hills has a plethora of choice when it comes to restaurants. However,t here is a newcomer you need to check out. Salt Vine Tapas Bar serves up top Lebanese Tapas, and there is nothing else like it in the area.
Salt Vine Tapas is a lively restaurant with a modern feel, great for date night or a catch up with friends. A few tables outside, a booth and smaller tables indoors. On the night we visited, it was completely full, so we recommend that you do book. It is a licensed venue, with a range of Australian and International menu items. We both enjoyed a glass of wine with our meal. They did also have a range of other options including Beirut Sangria made with red wine apricot liquor, arak, ...read more
