To everyone who has posted positive reviews of Scrummies I'm right on with you. I have been on a search for gluten free places to dine with actual GLUTEN FREE items and not just settling for something that may or may not contain it. The food is a bit pricey but nonetheless delicious. I was able to get a really nice GF sandwich on bread that actually tasted like bread. We have yet to buy some that is in the fridge. I have been there on several occasions and the staff is always pleasant. The GF brownies taste like something out of heaven. I have no idea what flours they use but they are AMAZING. I always get one with my selection. Food is always prompt and with a smile. Ben&Andrew you guys are effing great.
Me and my family have become regulars at Scrummies for the coffee, the food, and especially the company of the friendly staff who always greet me, my husband and my young children with a warm welcome and a smile. They offer a varied menu of fresh wholesome food, and the scummiest home made Brownies I have come across (highly recommended!!!). Scrummies is my first choice for coffee and while they may not be the cheapest in the area, I am of the view that you pay for what you get....the best coffee and great service, keep it up guys :-) .
I won't be going back to Scrummies any time soon. I was very disappointed with the service I received recently and they are less than accommodating with children. The staff during the week are a bit arrogant and the food pricey for what you get. As a local to the area there are plenty of other cafes that have friendlier staff and a more relaxed atmosphere.
Thank you for your feedback. However, please do not miss out important information regarding the issues you had, it is very misleading to other customers. The reason you were unhappy with us was because your son had taken the sugars out of their container and was playing with them on the table. I was not rude, but instead explained to you that we had a previous customer who allowed their child to actually suck on the sugar sachets and then placed them back in the container, and that customers had to use them and it was therefore not hygienic if they were used as a play item for children. I was at no time 'rude' or 'arrogant', in fact I at least took the time to explain my reason. The sugars are not a 'play thing', and just because you are not interested in the hygiene of other people, we are. We have no issue with children, and have many customers who bring their children in specifically to see us. However, parents who cannot control their children ...read more
Well now I think that Scrummies is being misleading in their response to the earlier comment. Whilst waiting for a take-away order, my child was "playing" with a couple sugar sachets by taking them in and out of the table container. NEVER once were they sucked on as I explained to you and full supervision was undertaken. And I did interpret your comment in the cafe as rude even if that wasn't your intention - it was my experience not yours and I am entitled to it. Working in customer service, you may want to consider how your comments may be taken by the customer.
