It was my mother's desire to support an independent local business that led us to Scrumptious Lunches on several occasions, and this desire was well-satisfied. It is a small but very popular cafe, close to Ringwood East railway station, with indoor and outdoor seating. From what I've seen, there are only two staff - I presume they are owner-operators because of their bright enthusiasm, rarely seen in the manner of bored multinational employees. Out the front, there is an immense list of lunches available - closer to a restaurant than a cafe - and inside are clean cabinets filled with cakes, slices, quiches and other savoury frittata-like creations. It becomes apparent that these girls have a flair for the gourmet. very very very nice. The food is so delicious. Mia makes a mean hot choc with the marshmallows. Those mini cupcakes and little pastries are so nice.
