Secluded Cafe

has been vacant for some years now, which is a shame as its such as lovely place for a cafe

visted this cafe a few times recently, last time we visited and i think it has new management its now called Lifeskills secluded cafe and has a sign out on main road high street road nearby. they have removed the kids tables and chairs and table with seaside items under glass that my kids liked, but it is still a nice setting. have a little more food on offer on menu (still 2 items on specials board, which included a lamb salad this day) coffees were ok, new staff weren't overly friendly, open 7 days a week for breaky and lunch, nice shady place for dogs and plenty of parking.

They have done a great job making the cafe look really picturesque (ramps, plants, floor coverings inside, ground coverings outside) given the setting it is (behind car wash and next door to junky looking yard, etc). You wouldn't know cafe was there - not much advertisement from high st rd. The day we visited for lunch on weekend a homely yummy soup was on offer, as well as quiches and frittatas, focaccias, cakes. Breakfast menu available, scones, etc. coffees are good, prices and serving sizes fairly reasonable. Quaint outdoor and indoor seating available, kid friendly (toys available and "secret garden" setting). Lots of parking next door. We would definitely come back again. staff were friendly.
