Following my relatively good Secure Parking experience at Hilton on the weekends, I decided to book an early bird parking at this place, thinking it will be as breezy, in addition to the fact that it is actually quite cheaper than other Secure Parking early bird rates around the area, and the entry period is also a lot longer.
But I was in for a bit of a ride that morning. There was no signage whatsoever as to where to go for my early bird parking, and so I was thrown into the mercy of the not-so-informative, let alone friendly, staff. I was told to go one level down, and once I was there I was told to go by another staff to go down one more level, doing a reverse on the already small parking ...read more
I have only had the chance to finally park at Secure Parking Hilton last week. A friend of mine had already told me that the place is actually quite constrained, but I just wanted to know how small it really is.
Actually it wasn't all that bad, apart from some inconvenience. The circular turn to go up and down the levels are very narrow so you really have to be careful (you can already see a lot of scratches on the wall!). Then, once you are at the parking area, some of them are unmarked (not lined) and people are really left wondering if the spots are available for parking or not, especially when there are pipes on the ceiling which you would have to watch out for if you have a rear door that goes upwards.
Having said that, the weeknight and weekend parking rate at this place is now cheaper than at No. 1 Martin Place and it is still a lot more convenient if you are visiting the QVB, TGV, and Pitt St Mall areas.
I was so excited to see the ad on my smartphone's screen: All day undercover CITY parking for $15. So of course we drove into the city. Little did we know that this parking had to be prebooked and prepaid for. Bummer. We ended up paying $25 for 2.5 hours of parking, which was still better than battling the masses on public transport and skip, jump and hopping through puddles of city rain. The carpark is super narrow though and if you're a claustrophobe I wouldn't recommend going here.
