Sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name, and friends are always glad you came. It might not be Cheers, but there’s definitely a touch of the classic American dive bar about Shady Pines Saloon. We don’t know whether it’s the acres of dark wood, the complimentary peanuts or the whisky, but this tiny bar couldn’t be more Yankee if it tried. Underground whiskey bar with fun decor and staff who know their thing. It's like Baxters with a bit less swank, a few fewer suits, more peanuts (and peanut shells everywhere!) and more live music (which can be a bit too loud sometimes, is my only complaint about the place).
If you want something cool, loud and awesome, this is the place! It's hidden pretty well so you'll need to look for it if it is your first time but it's totally worth it. Love the 'Canada-hunting' vibe decor all around with a touch of hillbilly. It does get super loud and rowdy so prepare yourself.
