The restaurant rating would be much higher...food and service is excellent! But the accommodation... well, let's say, if you enjoyed Fawlty Towers, you might just enjoy staying here. Looks great, gorgeous antique cupboards with new beds and bedding, but whenever my husband turned over during the night, 3 slats (supporting the mattress) fell out! Because the window wouldn't open, we left the door ajar, having been told we were the only two rooms occupied. But at 11:30pm, a man walked into our room! My friend in the next room had a window that would open, but was unable to lock it, and felt uncomfortable as it opened onto the verandah. We don't mind leaving our room to go to the bathroom, and hopefully, they will also be refurbished soon. The kettle and tea provisions in the corridor, was a thoughtful touch, as was the portable heater. We had to put the kettle on the carpet in the bedroom to use the powerpoint as there wasn't one in the corridor. I gave our ...read more
