I have been to this place several times before and the food & service from the waitresses were both fantastic.
Today when I called to make a takeaway order a man took my order. He was incredibly rude and basically yelled in my ear, repeatedly asking for the menu number of the dish. Shame on me for not having my menu handy. Still yelling in the background he passed the phone to a waitress who very politely tried to take my order which I ended up cancelling as I was honestly too annoyed.
I basically had the same experience as Evara's review below and it is disappointing as I know how great this place is.
I really hope the restaurant reads this review and as the attitude of one person is clearly losing them customers.
This place is fantastic, great food. Especially like the noodles with chicken and eggplant and the vegetarian dumplings in hot and sour broth. Incredibly cheap prices - quick service. I've been there several times and my friends and I have never been able to finish what we've ordered as the portions are very generous
This is the worst restaurant I have ever been to in my past 27 years. Four of us went into this Cafe for dumplings at about 2pm. Nobody else were there. A guy come over with a menu. I asked nicely about what types of dumplings do they have. The guy just answered that "they are all in the menu" in a very bad manner. After I roughly scanned over the menu, I did not find the information I want. It says they have pork, beef, lamb and veg, but with no details for the other materials in the stuffing. So I said I can't find detail information here, and asked again what stuffing they have. Then the guy just yelled at me "Can't you read the menu?! it says pork, beef, and lamb". My friends were talking about Italian cultures while I was ordering. They were all shocked by the yelling. Oh my god! I have never encounter this situation ever before. We just walked out of it.
All I can say is if this place was in Sydney the queue would be around the block.
It's everything a good dumplings place should be: cheap and good.... really good. There's not enough room to go through everything that was eaten but suffice to say, it was all good.
I'll be going to this place everytime I visit Canberra!
