What a dissappointment on our last visit. My husband and I have been going to Sharkeys for a long time and kept going back because we put it very high on our ratings for a good seafood eatery.....that was until our last visit. We ordered premium South West Shark (one battered/ One grilled) and what ever we were served was nothing like the yummy previous shark. The offering we got was very sinewy and hard to cut through with a knife????... so have to question which shark variety of the South West would have this texture? Having come from a family in the industry with four qualified chefs in our family I like to think I have a reasonable exposure to good food so I would like to suggest that Sharkeys should examine their quality control & strive to giving the diner a meal which will encourage return patronage.
Arguably our first port-of-call as a family when eating out or taking away. When takeaway fish and chips is the choice, this is our provider! But don't think they are limited to takeaway...no, no, no. We have had many a table-service meal over the last 4 years, and we keep returning for more. Now, I don't care if you're from the Old Dart like me, or a true blue Aussie, whatever your preconceptions are of bangers and mash...dismiss them forthwith! I am salivating even as I write this....the sausages are fat and delicious and ALL pork...no discernible fat or filler, just meat and spices and flavour to burn. The mash is divine, as is the wine and onion gravy. If you think you've had bangers and mash before, or it doesn't sound your bag, please do your taste-buds a favour and try this one. You won't be disappointed.
