Shenkin is really relaxed in the mornings on a weekday for breakfast. Theres a good choice of seating whether it was on the high stools or on a regular table which I loved. We got the Israeli Breakfast which was satisfyingly different! The staff are so hospitable and kept asking us how our food was and if we needed anything else. There were so many other items on the menu so we'll definitely come back to try!
Shenkin is a big part of my Sunday RnR ritual.
It's bright, chilled out decor offers the perfect environment to lax out alone with a book or vibe it with some familiars.

We arrived on a busy Saturday night without a booking and the lovely waitress managed to find us a table... The food was excellent and fresh ( baba ganoush with pita, lamb skewers and baked eggplant) and the service very attentive: as I was asking questions about the menu, the waitress enquiried as to whether I had any food allergies and was more than happy to provide the dressing on the side. Such a lovely place, cannot fault it!. I"ll be back.
Shenkin Kitchen is a part of my morning ritual, particularly on Filter Friday when they serve up large mugs of steaming coffee. Each week you get a delicious coffee blend unique in flavour.
I enjoy the off the beaten track nature of the food or to put it another way expect to be offered something different from the standard caf fare. Teamed with the friendly service and eclectic dcor this is one of Newtowns must go places.
Two and a half thumbs up.
