Shingle Inn Macarthur

My wife and I ordered big breakfast and eggs Benedict. The eggs were cooked using burnt pans leaving bitter after taste. Toast was all black and just tasted like charcoal. Bacon was black, burnt and seem to be reheated many times, defffinitely not fresh. When complained about the problems they cooked new meals however replacement meals were not impressive barely warm. When complained to the management they advised that they don't often cook breakfast and properly not used to it. Do not come here for breakfast, don't let the interior tempt you. Don't waste your money here.

i visited Shingle Inn today and i have to say was not overly satisfied. I really liked the set out of the restaurant and it had a really nice atmosphere. What i was not happy about was the quality of food. I expected that from a restaurant of this high esteem that the food quality would be at least average or higher. But when receiving half warmed food that looked like it was just chucked on a plate with a small salad on the side i was not jumping for joy. From what iv previously heard Shingle Inn has a pretty good reputation or maybe that was what it used to be like. I hope this was just an off day!

Shingle Inn has the very very best vanilla cakes out!! Cooked perfectly, never dry and the come in a cute little box tied with sting which is easy to carry straight back to the office. If you havent tried already I strongly reccomend!!!! The cupcakes a little too sweet but the whole cakes are divine!

This place does really nice sausage rolls.

As a cafe the shingle inn is a great place to buy cakes. If the target market is for pensioners I think the decor and food is spot on and my parents loved it however it would not be the place to take someone on a date - unless they hold a seniors card. The cakes really are top shelf though - very tasty.
