We all love the food at the Shining Palace as it is always well cooked and presented excellently. Very good value and a marvellous variety available for the whole family.
They do a fantastic home delivery which cannot be beaten, the lady who delivers is delightful and always so friendly.
Try the Lemon Chicken it's to die for!
I am sure you are happy with the take away service. However in my review, I mentioned that they seem to look after their take a way customers over in restaurant diners.
Shining Palace?! You've got to be joking! There is absolutely nothing palatial about this restaurant. We went for Chinese New Year. What Chinese New Year? There was no sign of it.
While it doesn't aspire to be a fine dining establishment it goes too far the other way. The decor is old and tired. In fact, it isn't going too far to say it is just cheap and nasty. On each table there is a menu holder containing a list of cocktails and fancy drinks. I doubt the one on our table had ever been wiped clean. It had some kind of sauce on it (plum sauce?) and was sticky to the touch (uuggghh!!) The serving spoons that came with each dish were black with tarnish, The service was below par and the food itself revolting. I wonder when they last used fresh oil. Our fried wontons and fried noodles were both burned and clearly the oil was old. We didn't stay for dessert or coffee and we certainly won't be going back.
Would not recommend the Shining Palace.

Because we were apart of a large group we were put in a back room, which seemed to double as a storeage ...read more
