This place has potiental to be Great, but the owner/Chef is a bit stubborn,
he only likes making the Omakase (set menu) and if you order anything else you have to order 6 pieces (like sushi), so its a bit difficult when there is less people., I find the seaweed salad is often sour(off tasting)
I cant be bothered going there anymore, too much of a hassle to try to convey what you want, and then if the Chef is in the mood to make it! after so many drinks...
Went for Omakase here and loved it! I have now been 3 or 4 times and never been disappointed. Let me say upfront, this is not a cheap night out, but well worth it. Sit at the bar and have the chef deliver amazing morsels of the freshest seafood you will find in any restaurant in Melbourne, artfully prepared and presented with the strict direction of either "Sauce!" or "No Sauce!" absolutely nothing to fault in the food. They could earn themselves an extra 1/2 star from me if they expand their drinks list, only a very sparse selection of wines, and a few beers, although this can be solved by simply sticking to the sake that is a lovely compliment to the sushi, and has the chef's seal of approval as he too sips on it throughout the evening.
