Heads up to anyone visiting Silky Oaks using the CUDO voucher - BE VERY CAREFULL WHAT YOU PAY FOR! This resort has most recently been taken over by new MONEY HUNGRY management! Upon our arrival we were encouraged to upgrade our Quicksilver Day Tour, paying an additional $100, only to figure out that we had been downgraded and told we need to pay more to upgrade to our original tour. Our suspicions that something wasnt quite right was confirmed when a staff member slipping up and actually confirming our doubts. On top of that we had to chase reception three times to get our bottle of wine that we were meant to have upon arrival. This is not acceptable considering how much you pay to stay at this resort! If you are staying at Silky Oaks I highly recommend hiring a car because the complimentary guess service to and from Port Douglas for lunch or dinner is unreliable! Set in a tranquil, riverside setting this day spa with a restaurant is a hidden jewel in the jungle. The food is beautifully cooked and served with a casual but friendly service that makes you feel welcome, yet relaxed. I recommend it for a visit while exploring the mossman gorge or daintree region. It may not wow you but it won't disappoint either ... And the calming row of the water is mesmerizing while you sit and enjoy the ambience
