Sixpenny

I've been meaning to get to Sixpenny for 2 years now and finally came! what a great little place. So much smaller than I imagined but the service was perfect and the food was delicious. Great degustation menu and really enjoyable, intimate meal.

Wow! I had the set the bar high for this restaurant as had wanted to go here for a long time. It did not disappoint.

It is an unassuming small place and you would easily miss this 2 hatted restaurant if you walked past. The service was impeccable. It is the small details that count. All the staff were lovely and the nice touches like bringing fresh napkins, constantly refilling the water glasses, cleaning up the water marks as they saw we were taking pictures, and even bagging the petit fours as we had an extra course of dessert and thought we would be too full. Very cute local restaurant with outstanding service. I had the 6 course degustation with matching wines. All the dishes and wines were explained in detail by the attentive wait staff and chefs. Great for a special occasion.

Lovely to find another good quality local restaurant in the Inner West. Well paced meal - we probably enjoyed the complimentary snack courses more than some of the degustation but it was nice to have light, summery courses to suit the season. Favourite dishes were the goat's cheese tart, mud crab,and mascarpone ice cream. A few courses were "nice" rather than "exceptional" but overall an enjoyable meal.

Wonderful exciting food, friendly knowledgable service. A truly great dining experience. Love it!
