I went to South Yarra with pastel plantium blonde hair and asked for half head of foils to touch up my regrowth came out 2hrs later with neon yellow hair she said she could put a toner through if I took a seat and waited there were 4 - 5 people waiting plus she did 3 others while I had mine done no toner at the time, I had very little time so I left put some of my own conditioner through it as it was snapping, went back said it looked disgusting and then told whats wrong with it well billy idol is not my shade in 2016... oh come back tomorrow so I got laughed at and stared at as if what is up with her hair and I can not possibly go to my work looking so cheap and nasty. Going back but my At Colombo hair dresser can never be replaced by sub standard hair products and style. Jacqui Young

I see there are alot of negative reviews but there are also alot of positives. All the staff at sommerhill Betty and Sam are high end hairdressers whos work is outstanding. These girls used to work at hair expo sydney and adelaide their training has been extensive but most of all they are not scissor happy and they make sure you are left happy and they make your experience at the salon a very joyful one full of laughs. Thank you girls your awsome and my friends and i are so lucky to have found you both.

Ok, if cheap is what you're after then this is possibly the place.
But it's not good, not unless you manage to score the odd gen that works there anyway and it will take you a few visits to work that out. If you don't really care how bad your hair looks when you walk out while you try the different staff, go for your life. Otherwise, get your hair cut elsewhere. Or buy some clippers. Just as cheap and you can probably do just as good a job.

I just had my hair cut at Smart cuts and color South Yarra store and would NOT RECOMMEND them to anyone, I asked for a trim and shape and agreed to have about 5cm taken off the length, she took more than 16cm off and has left the bottom of my hair looking like rats have chewed at it. She has left strands of hair that she missed that are at least 4cm longer, areas where she has taken chunks out, it isn't cut straight or in a v, its just choppy and uneven. NOT HAPPY. I have never had a hair cut where the hairdresser has not sectioned off hair and cut in small even sections, the hair dresser took handfuls and just cut at different angles, one side is longer than the other too. I will never go back and advise others to stay away.

Yes I tried going here as I wanted something cheaper couldn't afford expensive, worst mistake in my life service is horrible I asked for ombre and that they put brown foils in my hair they had no clue what ombre is. I ended up leaving and crying cause I hated my hair I'm natural blonde love my blonde hair and they ruended it, so I went back so upset and complained so they said they will fix it when they get back from the bank I had to wait half a hour for them to get back then they were combing bleach at bottom of my hair gave me messy chopped layer patchy spots everywhere. Worst part is I can't do anything to fix my hair it won't grow back nice and I no longer have my blonde beautiful hair.
