Unwelcoming, rude and sarcastic. We tried to get a coffee here on a Saturday afternoon. Before we could even order we were told very abruptly, the cafe closes in 20 minutes. When we then asked if we could get a coffee in that time we were told that they could make the coffee in that time, but the problem was that we might not finish it in the 20 minutes. We were then told by the staff member she would serve it in a takeaway cup, and we would be allowed to sit down in the cafe until it was time for her to move us on so she could close. When we said this was unreasonable, she sacastically suggested we try to find somewhere else, if we could find somewhere.
Well not surprised.. The standard is so poor of late. As a 10 year resident of Newtown, with 3 children we have often gone to Soft. NEVER again - maybe a change of management, chef would improve things!! Lots more Cafes in the street and will be going there way in future. wendyfr
After searching Geelong for a decent breakfast, walking out of one of Geelong's most famous cafes due to the vile smell and leaving others on the nasty end of Pakington st (you know what I mean....lol), we ended up at a clean and well presented cafe called Soft.
This place was just what the tummy ordered. Nice sized portions, well prices. Comfortable roomy atmosphere, bright and cheerful. Friendly staff, with fast service. And good coffee.
The way I see it a tick in every box.
Don't bother with the center of Geelong and remember to turn left onto Pako from Aberdeen instead of right cos Soft Cafe will not disappoint.
