My wife and I sought quotes from several retailers for some new flooring. We required the quotes urgently as we had a painter about to start. All but one quote, from Solomons Noosa, were provided promptly the same or next day. It took Ian, the elderly owner from Solomons, 3 days to get back to us. Having received the quote, which seemed to be the cheapest, we drove into the shop twice over several days where we spoke to Ian to quote us on some different options. We stressed the urgency as we couldn’t hold up the painter. He was terribly slow and didn’t seem too interested in providing us with alternatives. After two weeks we had heard absolutely nothing from him. Good up front sales piece. Appalling once the deposit taken. When I rang to confirm the delivery two weeks later for the following morning, I was told that the carpet had not arrived and would delivery the next day be OK? (the management sounded alarmed and I suspect had actually forgotten to order our carpet) I had to totally rearrange my schedule to fit in with them and my husband had to cancel a meeting in brisbane.
When I rang on the scheduled delivery day at the designated time to find out where the installers were, they said that they had another job on and that the installers would now be mid morning.... stay tuned to see if they arrive.
