The food is always fresh and for an unusual location ( a fairly deserted thoroughfare on weekends, mainly cars not pedestrians) near the train station they do in fact pull in quite a few people. You're unaware of traffic noise though so that's good.
There's a bar on the right as you walk in but you can also BYO
Whole baked fish is excellent and it's very good for group dinners as lots of parking at night, with the office workers frequenting the place in the day. Very nice wait staff and my kids adore the home made lemon drink.
Authentic food and Authentic music. I am pretty sure the sound track they had playing was the top 40 from Vietnam... As we sat down at our table I looked around at the painting and photos on the wall... yep... this place looks legit! The atmosphere is casual and the table settings are your typical asian restaurant look and feel. Hidden behind some trees, it can be easy to miss this little restaurant on Chandos street. I ordered crispy skin chicken and tomato rice, and I also paid an extra $1 for the fried egg... when you order this type of food, the friend egg is a MUST. The food came out and the chicken was definitely crispy. In other places, this dish usually comes with fish sauce & chilli, but I had to specifically ask for this, and they gave quite a small serving of it. Nevertheless the food was tasty and I think this is some relatively authentic vietnamese food in the St Leonards area. Looking forward to trying more dishes from here in the future.
