South Dowling Kitchen

This is my go to if I have uni or am in the area. The sanwhiches are so affordable, and so delicious. I always splurge a bit more money on the salad boxes, they are so amazing and fresh and you are full for the whole day after eating there. Always a line outside the door because its truly fantastic !

South Dowling Sandwiches are pretty incredible. I would almost go as far to say that they have produced the nicest sandwich I have ever eaten (my mum would NOT enjoying reading that!) No but seriously. Their shop is small and basic just from looking at the shop from the street you most definitely do not expect the culinary delights they produce on a daily basis.

First of all the bread is exquisite. So soft in the middle but crunchy on the outside. And massive! I dont think Ive ever had a bigger, more filling sanga. The last time I had one for lunch I couldnt eat dinner. You can choose from white or brown sourdough.

Their range of delectable fillings is second to none too. There are so many delicious things to choose from and so different to every other sandwich bar. The roasted and caramelized carrots are an absolute must.

Do yourself a favour and get to South Dowling Sandwiches. Simple concept. Delicious taste.

This place gives nothing away from its very basic shop front, but believe me do not be fooled by its laid back appearances, the sandwiches and salads here are superb!

If you are super hunger or have a boyfriend with an insatiable appetite for under $10 you can get a enormous sandwich filled with a variety of fresh options or get one of their popular salad which are so filling and so scrumptious.

You can either order of their set menu or go rogue and make your own creation, either way you will be 100% satisfied with your choice.
The only downfalls of this cute little sandwich shop is that it can be hard to get a park nearby and due to its overwhelming popularity they often sell out quite quickly of the most popular fillings, but highly recommend making a trip in, you will not be disappointed!

The original home of the big, foil wrapped sandwich which has since popped up all over Sydney. Not the original owners anymore, but still great sandwiches that are as big as your head.
