I arrived unannounced and they looked after me regardless.

Expensive but Poor Car Service
I had purchased a brand new golf from South Yarra Volkswagen 5 years ago and continued to have my vehicle service at their location. On 11th January 2017, I dropped my Golf GTI for service at South Yarra VW, the bill for this work is $1,902.55. The next day after the service, the vehicle was hardly started and developed serious warning sign rendering the vehicle unfit to drive, I had to send back to South Yarra Volkswagen for repair. On 14th January 2017 morning, my car won’t start, when I turn the key, nothing happens. I had to call RACV Roadside Assistance, the technician replaced the battery for my vehicle with a cost $250.00. Just purchased a new golf from the dealership. Very happy with my purchase and the service provided. I even got the big bow on it when i picked it up! Keep up the good work David and Joel :)

Wouldn't recommend VW South Yarra to anyone. I purchased a new golf GTI last month and have an issue with my headlights fogging up. They won't replace them under warranty claiming this is "normal". I've never had a car with such an issue and two of my last cars were Golfs. It's really sad that they won't fix what is clearly a manufacturing defect, as I actually really like their cars and think that they drive well and are generally good in their class. This dealership is the worst I've dealt with, each of my three golfs I've bought from 3 different dealers. I don't think I'll fall into the trap of buying another VW again.

I took my car in here for repairs as there was a longer wait at the South Yarra Volkswagen Sales and Service Centre in Commercial Road, which is simply fantastic. This centre couldn't be further from the one at Commercial Road. First of all, when I arrived, the rude service person simply ignored me and spoke to my husband! It was my car! Also, although I am female I know a lot more about cars and have a lot more interest than my husband! We laughed about on the day but as time wore on and we were kept waiting on repairs, parts and finally waiting to collect our vehicle, we have decided to never go back. Go to South Yarra Volkswagen in Commercial Road, where the staff is knowledgeable and friendly, where you are given accurate and timely information, where the mechanics are fantastic and they also serve good coffee! Don't waste your time here!
