Felt the need to leave a review in consideration of the original one star review of Southmoor Primary school. We left due to bullying not being taken seriously enough and seclusion practices such as asking children with special needs not to sit NAPLAN (hence the skewed score on Better Education). The only reason I am giving them more than one star is because we had great experiences with the teachers, unfortunately that didn't extend to management.
I am giving 1 star only because the teachers are good at teaching but that is where the positives stop. The school is now so badly run that it is an embarrassment. They have no system in place to check anything so if they make a mistake in the office like not distributing books that you have paid for nothing will be done unless you spend a couple of days chasing it up, and they don't care.
The office staff are generally rude and don't like to do anything that may require work especially the receptionist.
The principal staff is just like a piece of the office furniture and tries to remain out of sight and not make contact with anyone. Even if the principal staff is the only person in the office the principal staff won't help you or even acknowledge you.
Choose a different school it would be just easier in the long run.
It seems very odd to provide a one star rating for a school simply because you had trouble receiving some books. The office staff were rude and also the principal because they didn't help, so you had to follow up over a couple of days. And this is deserving of a terrible rating? Seriously?

Seems strange that someone would go to the effort of setting up a new account to make a passionately negative comment on a review for a school that they are just "looking into". Also there is just no need to be rude, you don't know me and this isn't a personal issue.
When you are a working parent, having to spend a couple of days chasing up something because school staff couldn't be bothered doing their job properly is an issue. Based on the stats alone, Southmoor has actually consistently done very well academically for the last few years. It went from the 99th percentile in 2012 and 2013 to the 100th percentile in 2014.
