My girlfriend was visiting from Perth and after a delicious dinner in the city, we all were on the hunt for dessert. Back in our high school days we used to go to Spats for late night catchups and dessert fixes, so we decided to reminisce a little and come back here. What was our dessert fix that night - sticky date pudding! I told them all of how amazing the one I had here a couple months ago was so we decided to order the same and try the chocolate lava cake. Both deliciously amazing! Hiit the spot - thank you!!
Been a while since I have come here but a friend suggested a catch up over warm drinks and warm desserts during a cold spring night the other week and so I mentioned Spats. We had a cosy little booth, hot drinks and a delicious sticky date pudding. The butterscotch sauce on that was yummy. Very much hit the spot! The additional hot chips we did not intend to order, but couldn't help ourselves from ordering, put us way beyond full but very much satisfied! :)
First found about 4 years ago and I absolutely loved it ! Since then whenever my friend or family comes from oversees I take them here. And they ALL love it.
I love how they always put a tiny umbrella on top of deserts and art with colored cream but last time I went there couple weeks ago they didn't do it. I wonder if they stopped the beautiful deco to desserts.. but still love how dark inside and all staff always friendly. #reviewtowin
A girlfriend and I decided to catchup and chill out here one night and we we're set out for desserts but in the end we ended up ordering savory and tea, no desserts because we were both too full. I didn't mind skipping dessert this time around, the Mediterranean chicken kebab salad was great. Very tasty and filling!
The only fault for the night would be the the smell of the table where we were sitting, we could tell this yucky smell was from the table because we took a sniff as I was wondering where it was coming from. Realized they didn't wipe down the table with any disinfectant just with a wet cloth, so maybe that wet cloth was way over used.
A favorite spot to indulge, chill out and/or catch up with friends. Yes Spats is more well-known for their decadent desserts but they do have quite an extensive menu. They have light meals, plates to share, mains, sides, and other interesting concoctions of juices, shakes, cocktails, mocktails, teas and coffees. Spats offers tables and chairs at the entrance plus booths downstairs and upstairs but all providing a cosy and chilled atmosphere. This place is definitely worth a try if you havent been and also worth the wait on the busier weekend nights, when sometimes you wished you called to make reservations. Much recommended and I myself will definitely be back.
