Contracted for a job to remove 12 cubic meters of dirt from a building site. They provided a 15m^3 bin and asked us not to overfill. Bin was 1.2m deep, so height to get to 12m^3 was 24 cm from the top. We did this, had photos. They came to pick up, said it was too heavy, I had to get the dirt mover to come back to take more out. Was told the dirt level needed to be 30 cm from the top (i.e. actually only 11.25m^3). They came back and still could not lift. The bin had been placed so that the loading truck had to try to lift it at an angle, making it harder. Had to take out MORE dirt, down to roughly 9m^3. Finally the bin went on. This mucking around delayed a slab pour resulting in further costs. Why place a bin in a place you could not lift it from with the contracted weight in it?
