Spiced by BillusThe newest outpost by Billu Singh, Spiced by Billus, bringing the authentic Indian food they've been serving Sydney for years to another location, Wulugul Walk at Barangaroo. Arguably some of the best Indian in town, Spiced by Billus is seriously dialling up the spice-meter. The menu features all of the regular favourites, like melt in your mouth buttery naan, classic curries, thalis and dosas.
Spiced by Billu's is in the trendy dining precinct at Barangaroo, just by the ferry terminal, so it has a lovely view of the water. It would also be a great place for a long lunch on a weekend. We were here for a Sunday evening dinner, the seating is alfresco (yet covered) under dimmed lights and heaters to keep us warm.
Originally set up in Harris Park, known to cater for celebrities such as Chris Gayle and Steve Waugh. Pricy new outpost for a Harris Park stalwart - Billu's - set in the waterfront restaurant row. Curries were competent, if not exceptional. Breads sadly overcooked. Not sure it leveled up enough to justify the higher pricing, would probably recommend visiting the suburb they began in instead.
Spiced is one of the new stylish restaurants at Barangaroo. A great covered outdoor dining area and delicious Indian cuisine makes it worth the visit. We sat down for dinner on a Tuesday night and the large outdoor heaters kept us warm whilst enjoying the open air. For food we decided to go with the staff's recommendations and they did not let us down. Starters saw us try the samosas and lamb cutlets. The samosas were tasty and the pastry was crispy. The cutlets were marinated in saffron, ginger, garlic and yogurt and were extremely tender. For main we could not go past the chef's special Chicken Tikka Masala which was far and above better than any other that we had. We also tried the Saag Ghost - diced lamb cooked with baby spinach, tomatoes and a variety of spices. These were paired with naan bread and basmati steamed rice and these two dishes filled us up, leaving us extremely satisfied with our meal choices! Highly recommended!
