Springfield Tavern

I go to the tavern every Thursday for trivia and have been doing so for the last almost four years. The tavern has not really changed in all that time. The food is consistently inconsistent - sometimes they will get one good thing on the menu (often when this happens it won't be long before they get rid of that item), but a lot of the other selections often come out overcooked (I've even seen burnt), tasteless or very, very average, or on other occasions it will take so long to come out that you really don't care what the food is like you are that hungry! The staff often get orders wrong or don't seem to know what they are doing and I have even seen the wait time to be over an hour (our food came out during the last round of trivia!) Don't even bother with dessert. They used to have one good one but the menu of late hasn't changed in a while and every dessert on there tastes like packet food. good friendly service. my salmon was perfect and my husband loved his steak &chips. asked me at the beginning of the meal if all was ok then left me to eat in peace, which is exactly what I wanted. altogether a lovely lunch.

really ruined my birthday dinner. the meals are sooo over priced, the steak on display looked awful. i was in line for over 20 minutes!! and there was only 2 people in front of me when i joined it. serving was slow, ffs the meals did not look appetising or worth what they charge. never ever going there ever again

i would eat chickkentreat instead this food all ays mixing meals up and steak never cook how u want it,steak so fatty worst tavern!

They are so rude and always mix up meals! and they got rid of the caesar salad! i reckon people should choose what salad they get because that was the best! the steak is fatty!
