DO NOT HIRE SUITS FROM HERE. The staff from Spurling North Essendon provided me with the WORST customer service that I have had to experience. I called to ask a few questions regarding the hire and was told that I was asking too many questions and causing issues when there weren't any. I was told that I was wasting his time and that he had customers waiting for him. This was a couple of minutes into the call and if he was so busy, he should have said nicely that he was with someone at the moment and he could call me back. Instead I was berated for asking questions to confirm my understanding of the process since I have never had to hire suits before. When I asked how to length of the suit would be fixed if it wasn't correct, I had to endure him talking about how they are professionals and I should just let them do their job.
Would never recommend.
Went with a relative to hire a suit for a wedding and the assistant was friendly and helpful with the fittings and said that suits tried on was just to gauge size and design required and promised a woolen suit for the high price quoted but when we went in a week later for fitting and down payment a different staff assisted with the fitting and the jacket and pant were not matching so not a suit and the jacket was wool blend mostly polyester and the pant was standard polyester that can be purchased at any department store and did not match the jacket. Fit was good but disappointing all around experience as it was not the suit promised and the jacket looked like it had been hired out once too often. When questioned about the promise of a woolen suit the assistant talked their way out of it saying that is what was meant "wool blend" and that was what is available.
They recently had their measurements done here, to be sent to another branch in Wagga Wagga to be altered for my brother's wedding and they were treated like absolute garbage!
Because they weren't spending money at this particular branch the staff was rude, unhelpful and acted like they were being a complete bother. My brother had organised this measuring session in advance on the phone and yet upon arrival the staff suddenly decided they weren't going to send the measurements to Wagga......well ok they would but for a small fee because it really "was beyond their duties!"
Dreadful! I don't care if your branches are individually owned, you represent the company and from the impression you have given us Spurling is an uncaring business!
Give them a big miss! The girls in menswear are great, but after your fittings with them, you then have to deal with someone else and they have all sorts of excuses from Warehouse incompetence, alteration mistakes, suits looking tired because they're used for debs, etc etc etc. Definitely keep away if you've got a wedding party!! :(
