Went to St George Manly to draw out excess funds I had deposited into my credit card as I had intended to go on holiday, but plans changed so wanted to withdraw $9,000 from my card (I owned NO money on the card). Teller behind the counter said there would be a fee for withdrawing my OWN money. I said no, the balance is in excess give me my money. I then said close the account to which she then replied that I could close it, get $4,000 & then in 2 weeks time get the remaining $5,000???? I then asked so how much the fee would be to withdraw $9,000 she replied $1,800 to withdraw MY OWN MONEY. Left and phoned St George Visa and was told the fee was $2.50!! Yes $2.50, so went back to withdraw money. Asked to speak to manager but was told he was in a meeting, then said ok Assistant Manager but he apparently was in the same meeting, asked for the teller's supervisor but he/she was not in.
