Where else in the world can you cuddle up in the moonlight on a balmy evening watching a chick flick on a giant movie screen which rises out of the water – while the lights of the city and harbour twinkle in the background? The St George Open Air Cinema has the killer harbour view and goes from December 20 until February 21. Note: there’s also the Ford Fiesta Moonlight Cinema at Centennial Park at the Belvedere Amphitheatre from December 4 to March 15. The VIP Gold Grass seats ($32) mean sharing comfy bean bags in the best lawn locations under the stars. Romantic movies with views, champagne and popcorn? It’s all too, too much.

Went with group of 10 to eat and then the movie. 2 of us went to buy a glass of bubbles we were declined because we were not sitting at tables They sold too.
On the way out a security guard was loudly ordering people which way to go.
Post COVID control? thx but we won't be back.

I wrote this review but after speaking to them today I would like it removed. I can't see how to do that.

This iconic cinema was always a favorite but it's improved even more since my last visit. Good value for money, sublime location and they worked out a good solution to fight the issues caused by funneling the crowds in 1 exit only last time we went. They've opened exits at the rear now so it was all much smoother. I'll certainly be back if I can get tickets (they sell out fast)

Fantatsic!!! I had always wanted to see a movie here so when I was offered tickets to the premiere of Burlesque I was there in a flash. I was amazed (not by the movie, it was a bore) but by the incredible location of this. We started the night of with a few drinks and bite to eat while watching the sunset over Sydney Harbour, When it became dark enough to screen the movie the screen was raised out of the water and everyone took their seats. Great place to spend a summers night with a group of friends.
