St Kilda Botanical Gardens
Blessington St
St Kilda, VIC, 3182
As you may have worked out I quite enjoy wandering around the odd park and the St Kilda Botanic Gardens are no exception. Okay, they may not be as extensive as some of the other botanical gardens around the place, but it is still a decent place to spend some time, especially if you are simply looking for a nice place to relax where you either don't have to buy anything, or you can actually bring your own food without having to worry about people coming along and getting upset at you for bringing along your own food. There are some decent areas where you can play some ball games, as well as some lovely gardens that you can simply wander around and enjoy the scenery. They also have some play equipment that is still the old school play equipment that you would see dotted around the suburbs back in the 70s and 80s. A really nice place to spend the afternoon.
The St Kilda Botanical Gardens are a St Kilda icon with beautiful rose garden areas, a chessboard area and a pond with ducks. There are swings and slides for the kids and even though it is not as large as many other gardens, it is invigorating to get some fresh air in a green space. Local residents from nearby often stop to chat or gossip on their way to or from Acland Street.
