The Coptic Orthodox Church was founded in Alexandria by St. Mark the Apostle and Evangelist in the first century. Nowadays the Coptic Church has grown and spread all over the world.
Built according to the Coptic Architectural style, our hurch adds to the splendid character of the National Capital.

On November 20, 1989, His Holiness Pope Shenouda III laid the foundation stone of the church and within only fifteen months the church was fully completed and officially opened by Pope Shenouda on Friday, February 8, 1991 in an impressive ceremony attended by several heads of Churches and Civic leaders.
