History meets Modern in Oatlands
The Stables Licensed Restaurant is located on the Main St of Oatlands. Set in a stone constructed building, with attached 1832 stables, with antiques for sale. Very unique. The dining area has an old petrol pump as a centre piece. As the site once was a service station. The dining area is large, modern, light and bright, with a large open fire. The kitchen is open plan, over looking the dining area with an 1800's coffee grinder. Very functional. An Al Fresco area in the front of the building with umbrellas, stone seating, sets the place off. Out back a very spacious walled court yard complete with original well and hand pump. The lunch brunch menu, along with blackboard specials, makes for good choices. We had a very nice coffee and a delicious cake. All very relaxing and pleasant. Opening hours 9 to 4.30pm 7 days, open for diner Frid & Sat evening. A very good call.
