The female staff manage to look extremely busy whilst ignoring your very existence. And then the Indian 'Manager' comes over to repremand the staff whilst totally ignoring you too! I waited 20 mins to buy overpriced drinks for 8 people on a 40 degree day and there was no queue. If you wish to be amused at how not to run a front of house Iconic destination in SA, then by all means head on over. If you want to sit back and enjoy an overpriced drink, good luck if you will ever be served as the staff could not give a toss about you or there job description. First and last time I enter this establishment. In the end I waited a very long time to be mistreated and then ripped off!
Great position next to the water. Had a group of guys enjoy some relaxation time and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Hotel and our rooms were clean and view is great. Only downside is the rooms aren't great size for your money and they are now very old.
Would not stay here again as there is better value for money elsewhere
Checking-in and out of the Stamford Grand Hotel was very efficient and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The room which I stayed was big, lovely and accommodating and the view was beautiful of the beach and sunset/sunrise. Very happy with my stay here and would consider coming back again.
Stayed there the first night of our honeymoon because it's 'the place to stay' in Glenelg. The view is great, but to be honest the room is just a room (and not a big one) - comfy enough bed, average bathroom; Breakfast was tasty but so are lots of others. It's just another hotel - I've stayed at nicer since, and wouldn't pay the $$$ they charge now.
