Star House

I have been back to Star House on several occasions for yum cha. This time around, food has been consistent and high quality. The warm freshly baked egg tart is a must try dish.

Star House has cemented its place as our family's favourite yum cha restaurant in Adelaide.

Having frequented most yum cha places in Adelaide, Star House is our family favourite. On weekends, it is always packed with Chinese customers the yardstick of a great yum cha place. Bookings are essential to avoid disappointment.

I returned for a weekday yum cha fix and Star House delivered. Great variety, easy to order and still tasty.

Like the other restaurant across the road, Star House on Gouger Street does get quite busy, so its good to make a booking, especially on the wkends and for Yum Cha. When i heard about this place after it opened, i was there in a flash to try the Yum Cha and i quite enjoyed it.. just like the place across the road. I love the BBQ Pork Pastries. There have been a few other times though when Ive been there and the service wasnt great.. they seemed to rush us quite a few times, kept constantly looking over at us and clearing our table every time they saw something empty.. also most times I notice the waitresses are quite grumpy looking and moody... sometimes with attitude, especially on the busy days.. like when they rush us. So that is a let down on the place. Im not sure how it is now because I havent been there in a while... but ill go back because i like to have yumcha every now and then...

My favourite yum cha joint in Adelaide - with a good selection of food - available DAILY! bookings are essential on public holidays and recommended on weekends.

The dinner menu is also highly commendable except for the chilli crabs which me and my dinner party found much too oily and tasteless! Give the aubergine / brinjal dishes a try and you won't be disappointed!
