It is gratifying to find a cinema in Hobart that features ( for the main ) art movies and independently made films. Industry professionals should be aware, however, that this cinema offers no audience concession for playwrights, film writers and actors, as distinct to all other capital city cinemas in Australia. Further the cinema screens are small and the ticket price is very high.
Thank god for the State Cinema bringing independent films to Hobart and enriching our everyday lives! I recommend everyone goes along and supports this lovely cinema. They also have great food/coffee/fancy lollies and you can bring your glass of wine into the cinema.
In their newly renovated surrounds you can enjoy some of the world's finest films. You can even sit down with a glass of wine. This place is definitely a must visit for film buffs or anyone wanting a bit more out of their movie experience than big bangs for their bucks.
