Today I had parked my car in city of Stirling street. I was careful to check the signs and pay and display my ticket. Not impressed to get back to my car and find I have an $80 fine for parking in the wrong direction. This was a back lane way which was not marked as double lane. I’ve never been fined for such a thing. Just a disgusting money grab.
We stayed at Scarborough Beach for 2 full weeks at the Seashell Apartments. We were a large group travelling in 4 mini buses which wouldnt fit in their underground apartments so were instructed to park along The Esplanade. One of our buses received a parking fine of $80.00. When I rang council and explained that this is where we were instructed to park I was told I should have looked at some MRA website that would have shown I was in fact parked illegally. After spending well above $50,000 on our stay I would of thought council would be encouraging tourists dollars spent in this area.....but no! I contacted the apartments who were not told by council that the parking had in fact gone to 3 hourly. Well Stirling Council...shame on you...and your rude staff!!!! Would of given no stars if I could!
Anyone you talk to will tell you about the City of Stirling reputation and how poor it it. From planning, building down to the Rangers and the method the City of Stirling conducts business. To read Casandra's feedback below does not surprise. Anyone interested in purchasing a house within City of Stirling jurisdiction should reconsider.
The City of Stirling has an emdemic culture problem, particularly in regard to its waste management employees. Following a complaint I made to the council that the bin collection drivers were dumping my bins back down on my driveway in such a haphazard way that I could not access my driveway, I have been the subject of a systematic campaign of retaliation and intimidation. My bins have been left unemptied and when they are emptied, they continue to be deliberately dumped across the driveway so that a car cannot get onto it. I have also had debt collectors set on me by the council, supposedly in error, but I believe this was also deliberate.
