I had the pleasure of living here for about 3 months and I would have to say it was a most positive experience. The managers are wonderful caring people who go out of their way to help and the residents of the park are the most genuine friendly people you can ask for, it really was like a little community. Further, the atmosphere of the park is so quiet and peaceful, a reprieve from the rat race from the city yet being only an hour away from necessities. Definitely recommended.
We stayed here with some fellow members of our social club - The Adelaide Chapter of the Australian Goldwing Association, with riders coming from both near and far to enjoy the friendship and the relaxation found in this hidden gem. We had 8 couples plus one day visitor that thoroughly enjoyed the facilities and country- style hospitality. Accommodation was very comfortable with choice and prices catering for all needs - we had people in the newly finished bunkhouse, in cabins and camping - think clean and honest family style and country comfort- not pretentious and glitzy. Nothing was too hard for Gary & Sheryl not even when we were working out special dietary needs for the catered evening meal. Those members that stayed the extra night benefited from freely shared local insider knowledge for local dining out options. After driving northbound into Gawler and finding that there were no sites available at any caravan park in the town, we were recommended to head 20 minutes further to Stockport Caravan Park.
We drove into the park and set up our caravan before we were invited over to a communal camp fire by owners, Sheryl and Gary, for a bush tucker dinner and some live entertainment.
At the time, we were very pleased with the hospitality that we received in Stockport. After arriving home to Melbourne almost nine weeks after staying in Stockport, we now know that Sheryl and Gary offered the best hospitality and friendliest faces that we would receive throughout the entire trip.
Whether passing through the area for one night or looking for a longer getaway, I highly recommend the Stockport Caravan Park!
