Finally decided to visit today for lunch so that we can try out the savoury items as well as ordered their sweet pancakes. We ordered the savoury pancake stuffed with chicken and corn in peri peri mayo. However, personally I enjoyed it much more than the sweet version. The sweet pancakes we ordered it to share and is perfect to complement with a coffee or chai. Service was average and food came out at a reasonable time.
Warm, cosy and made with love, they even have an acoustic guitar for patrons to jam, I thought that was pretty cool despite not being able to play. Stokers are renowned for their sweet and savoury pancakes, they also release specials which are their specialty pancakes. I had one of their specials, a Banana Fritter Pancake with Salted Caramel Sauce, I shared this thinking it would be too much however I think I could have had a whole one to myself!
Based on the review below, my husband has been nagging me to go Stokers South Melbourne. He is a big fan on pancakes as desserts. With all the syrup, chocolate, nuts and ice cream to eat with the pancakes i must admit looks really appealing. Not a sweet tooth person but i did quite enjoy the pancake itself. Minus all the add on i was happy to eat a plain pancake. However my husband could not resist to get the works topped up and made sure he was going to get his money worth on a pancake that is to have the lot. Staff service was great, quick and very accommodating. Freshly served, it didn't take my husband long to clean up his plate. He was however very thirsty afterwards so water was the beat solution to clean up all the sweetness. Presentation looked really well prepped on the plate so i can see why people would want to eat a nice looking pancake. I had a great time and it was great to see my husband enjoy his pancake.
We came here on a Sunday morning as we recently purchased a Groupon voucher for 2 sweet pancakes and coffee. The location is well situation in the heart of South Melbourne Clarendon Street, within walking distance to the market, access to trams. We were greeted by a friendly smile from owner. The interior provided a warm friendly vibe, we had our little toddler with us and wasnt certain how she would be in a caf/restaurant environment but all was really good, they didnt have a high chair but was no issue and he immediately offered to join two tables together to give us more room. I had the caramelized banana pancake and my hubby had the pear pancake. This was accompanied with a flat white and a hot chocolate nicely decorated. My little one had her first baby chino, which also was very nicely presented with some colourful baby marshmallows. Price range was from $13-17 for sweet pancake. I would definitely return, the pancakes were so nicely presented ...read more
