Stonnington City Council

If I could give no stars I would. The rubbish collection people in our area, next to Chadstone Shopping Center really need to get a new job. They obviously hate their job. On a number of times I have forgotten to put the rubbish and ran out when I have heard the truck to miss it, ran it over the other side of the road and he has driven straight past it (obviously seen me do it). Meanest, rudest man I have ever had to deal with. Would avoid buying in the area if I could. Sad mean rubbish man!

I have rang up a few times in regards to rubbish and recycling this year. One time, the person on the other line was friendly at first. Since I had a number of questions, they became impatient and a little snappy, unwilling to listen nor to understand. Recently rang about broken furniture collection but disappointingly, collection by request is not provided by the council other than twice a year collection. They were unable to recommend any independent service other than charities (this was also recommended the last time I called in regards to recycling items which are unsuitable for donation!) or to take the items into the waste transfer station (out of question with big furnitures!). Today ( 28/11/2011) at 2:55pm I parked in the paid parking area off Izett St in Prahran. When I went to put money in the machine it wouldn't accept it for some reason. Just then a parking inspector walked passed I greeted them kindly and asked if they could help me, by the look on their face my request must have been very dire to them. This individual was rude, unhelpful. When the money did go in they just grunted and walked off, shaking head. While I appreciate parking inspectors are mainly there to give parking infringements to people, I would've thought their role would also include helping people with requests such as mine. Also I know that P.I's must get a lot of abuse from the public, but that to me is not really an excuse for them to be rude to people, who have treated them respectfully and are simply trying to do the right thing.
