Strattons Hotel

My first visit here I have to say that I wasn't really all that impressed. Basically it is a pokies bar with a sports bar and little else. However when I arrived in Sydney recently it was just around the corner from my hotel, so I decided to step in here again for a drink (and to give it another shot). Well, the front bar was a little better, but it is pretty dark inside so it can be really difficult to see. They did have a live band playing, which was cool, but unfortunately they were finishing up for the night – I had got here pretty late. The staff were okay, and I did like some of the decorations on the walls (including the signs that looked like street signs from London) however it isn't really one of those places that I would visit too often, if at all.

Cheap drinks after work. It is nowhere near glam but more of a backpack / closest to the office bar. they have seats outside so you have watch the world go by. If you don't expect big things you wont mind the rough and ready feel.

It is what it is. It is a bar with people drinking beer and sports on TV. The thing that makes Strattons what it is is the crowd. It is a mix of tradies, suits and punters. Sydney is a melting pot and Strattons is the Melting Pot of bars.

The drinks are about $5 and the food isn't too much more. Enjoy!

Don't expect glamour and you'll love it. Cheap drinks, cheap food, cheerful crowd; we love the "Stratty".

This place is pretty good for a quick drink not too far from my work which is great, the food is pretty nice as well
