I have never left a review like this before. I had lessons over a few months with an instructer. He would regularly (7+ times) turn up late, talk on the phone and text during out lessons. He seemed more interested in talking and entertaining himself than teaching me to drive. I asked him repeatedly if he was sure I was ready to take the test. On the day he turned up 30 minutes late for our lesson before my test. I was not told the huge cost in advance when I booked the test in with him. I took the test and failed, and he charged me for a full hour and a half lesson despite his lateness resulting in only an hour lesson pre-test - hundreds of dollars down the drain. When I took a lesson with him post-test to try and assess my driving standard, and asked him to assess my driving rather than talk, he complained. Then noticed mistakes I had been making for months, that he had not noticed or corrected, because he had not been concentrating. The experience left me feeling ...read more
Hi mbedl, Sorry just noticed this message as I very rarely look or trust truelocal for genuine feedback and we stopped paying them for advertsing as most of the below comments a fake people.
But never the less you maybe a genuine customer and therefore apologise if you encounted an unprofessional instructor under our business. Feedback is always best to send it direct on the day so we can dicuss and maybe sort out the problem. STRIVE2DRIVE is built on CARE and customer service and any little problem will always be dealt with. Again I hope you got your license and goodluck. Paul
I was very disappointed with my instructor. Was on the phone the whole time while I was driving. My lesson was supposed to be 45 minutes and only ended up being 20 minutes. The prices online were not the same as the prices my instructor told me and I was charged more. Unprofessional and I definitely won't recommend this company to my friends.
Hi Amonymous10234, Thank you for the feedback. Would you kindly be able to email [email protected] or call 1300644061 to address this issue with the instructor. Cheers Paul
Hi, Thank you for the feedback. Please contact me to address this issue on 1300644061 or email [email protected]
Emmanuel was my driving instructor and he was absolutely amazing. He was always 15minutes early to lessons and on the day of my driving test, gave me a surprise when he arrived 30minutes early! He has an amazing wealth of knowledge, not just limited to driving and road rules either and is full of good practical advice. It was really good driving with him because he is an amazing teacher, full of encouragement and is able to answer any question given. He also ensures you have everything to need to not only ace the driving test but also be the best possible driver you can be.
I have just come back from a lesson with Emmanuel. I am or should I say was a very nervous drive until I met him, please believe when I say that Emmanuel has the most relaxing, and amazing way of teaching, that my first lesson with him was like having a 2 hour massage at a Zen Clinic, his voice put me into such amazing relaxed state that my brain has absorbed everything he has taught me.. OMG i can go on and on about him... I also want to thank Teresa from Strive to 2 for being a wonderful person to speak to on the phone.

Be careful when you book a driving test with Strive2Drive. The current fee is $140, and the test lasts only 30min. Plus, the instructor is naturally not allowed to give you any help and assistance during the test, so you are basically paying $140 just to rent their car for half and hour!!! What's more, the price for booking a car to sit the driving test is unavailable on their web-site. If you, like me, apply some logic and infer that since a 60min lesson costs $50, a 30min driving test can't cost much more that $30-40, then you are up for an unpleasant surprise when your instructor casually asks you closer to the test date 'Did I mention to you how much the test costs?". When I asked them why it costs so much, the only reason they gave me is that i can't use their car without them being there (what a fee for 30min sitting in the front of a car!), and that this was the average price for all driving schools. Even if the driving schools decided to charge so much (something that i ...read more
Hi Disapointed, I'm disappointed that you weren't happy with the price. Car rental is cheaper but if you have an accident your claim is over $2000. Our claim is also expensive and these charges must be factored in when taking a client out for a drive test. Also you must require a license to hire a car. $140 for a car and the instructor is reasonable, insurance cost, running of the car, petrol etc. and paying for the instructors time. I'm sure you don't work for nothing. regards Paul from Strive2Drive.
I too was in for a surprise the lesson before my test. My instructor didn't even tell me how much the test would be, I had to ask how much I had to bring next week for a 1 hr lesson + 30-40 min test... $185 ($50 for 1 hour lesson and $135 for 30-40 min test).
Instructor said the $135 covers the cost for using the car, instructor's time, fuel and insurance. But doesn't a typical lesson cover all that anyway, plus teaching as well???
I thought it was a bit rude not being given advanced notice of the full cost of the drive test, considering I had paid my instructor $55 to book the VicRoads drive test 5 weeks before my test and not a single word about the Strive2Drive test fees during that time. Nothing mentioned on their website either.
