My first recording and terrible. I wanted a full production. Gear seemed fine, and i got this older engineer. No access to live musicians, and only did virtual instruments, so they could get a higher cut of the fees. I was quoted on email for 10 hour two day blocks, and got 8 instead. They do not care, once i gave over the money, even though i was a female singer songwriter doing my first song. There was no compression, no mastering, no edits. I had to go elsewhere to finish it. They wanted me to finish it there for more $ than quoted. No thanks. Never again!
I had a bad experience! Yes the equipment is good and the skills of the engineers are good... I chose one of the older more experienced engineers and gave the money but he did not care at all about the session. There were digital clicks throughout the vocal takes. I didn't really get to choose my takes and some of the tuning made the vocals sound very strange. Had to redo the song so it was a waste of money.
Top quality gear and great staff, producers are good and while you may pay more for Trevor Higgins, this boy knows his stuff. Well located and while parking looks like it could be painful, inspectors rarely work the street outside. Pricey compared to lower class facilities but you get what you pay for and this is a serious studio for serious artists.
