After purchasing a brand-new Subaru Outback 2.5i-X 2 years ago, the front rear drivers cushion has failed with a crack in the vinyl (Looks like a tear but isn’t!) due to the under foam having collapsed. I submitted a claim through the dealership which was knocked back by Subaru Australia. After making a phone call to Subaru complaints, I was requested to get 2 separate reports from local trimmers which I duly did. I have made numerous phone calls with promises of a return phone call but this has only happened once! Perhaps Subaru wish for me to go away like a bad odour? When you spend over $48,000 on a new car, you expect better treatment than I have received. I’m 192cms tall at 118kgs and I expect a seat to last longer than this! I’ve tried to be fair with this company but will have no option other than to go through Consumer Protection if I don’t get a satisfactory response. UPDATE:
Finally Subaru came good with a new rear seat cover which took nearly 4 months, being a special order from Japan.
City Subaru here in WA kept me informed as to its progress every step of the way.
My 2015 Liberty's CVT gearbox has shuddering, slipping and is jerky as reported by other owners. Likely a problem with the torque converter or solenoids (many similar problems in American Legacys). Local Subaru service department gave me the runaround for years. Traded the car for something more reliable. Very disappointed.
Have always had faith in Subaru but no longer . Will not buy another one after 4 year old XV ignition problem was not covered . Could not turn key off and was told at dealership other customers are having this problem. Subaru covered part but not the labor. Go figure!
Subaru Levorg what an absolute LEMON of a car!! I bought this car as I had always wanted a WRX but it didn't suit the family, so when this came out I was over the moon. The excitement didn't last long I tell you! Car gearbox shuddering, slipping and jerky. 25000kms gearbox 1 changed, car given back to me, problem still exists!! Multiple trips to dealer, which is a 400km round trip mind you, unable to replicate problem each time (Several visits). Finally after the dealer had the car for over a week they could magically replicate the problem 30000Kms and number 2 gear box. The car comes back and still the original problem still EXISTS!! Plus added bonuses of tick, tick sound in engine (sounds like a diesel engine), Car radio off but still playing, car turned off but beeping lights saying "turn car off" (both intermittent) the list goes on and every time it goes into Subaru it comes out with more problems and the original problem not being fixed!! absolute rubbish service
my brand new Impreza at $33k broke down after 2 weeks. It has been in repair 4 times, each time being assured it's "fit for purpose" and fixed. It's been off the road for months. No apology, no worthwhile recompense, refused to replace or refund even after Department of Fair Trading ordered them to. So now I have to go to Social Media and court. The stress has given me shingles.
Head office is impossible to deal with.
