I took some family members who were visiting from out of town here today, mainly because of the kids play area for my boys and so they could look at the gorgeous giftware in the shop. My mum spent about $100 on some homewares and the young girl that helped her was really friendly. Unfortunately the staffs behind the coffee counter were beyond rude to my aunty who ordered our coffee and biscuits. They made her feel like she was being a nuisance for asking about the biscuits and not knowing where we wanted to sit ( even though we were the only customers there at the time). It's a shame because they ruined our experience at this cafe and we won't be back nor will I recommend it to anyone in future.
You would assume that a cafe with a play area for children would be child friendly. I was disgusted with the lack of service received today. I have three young children with various allergies and food intolerances and asked a polite question about the food on offer. I was given a vague answer and so politely asked again, explaining that my children had allergies. I said that I was not trying to be difficult but I would really appreciate if they could tell me the ingredients in some of the cakes and biscuits. Two of the staffs were abrupt, one more so than the other. They basically brushed me off with the excuse that the cakes weren't made by them, they were made in Melbourne. They were not the slightest bit apologetic. I never expect there to be food available for my children in cafes because of their allergies, but I do expect a reasonable level of courtesy and professionalism from staff in a cafe.
