Went to Sunbreakers for the first time as guests of my parents-in-law. What a delightful little gem this is. My chowder was delicious and the Turkish bread and dips were very more-ish. My pork cutlets were melt-in-the-mouth good. Everyone gushed over their meal and we left with a very real desire to come back again and sample some more delights.
I am always happy when I go to Sunbreakers, and it has been a favourite of mine even before they moved! the only thing I can say is that the mussels were a little on the small side but the sauce was beautiful. Over all a lovely meal and the service was good too. They looked after my little girl very well, which I think is nice to make families with small children feel welcome. Also I love the art work on the walls... I will be going back!
As real foodies, we at long last tried Sunbreakers and was pleasantly surprised. Two weeks later we took friends visiting from Perth to dine at the restaurant on our high recommandation. What a disaster. The food was very average - even though we ordered same as we had first time - and when staff asked if the meal was ok, we said no. Why ask if the meal is ok if you cannot handle the answer???
Upon being handed the bill, with most of the food still on our plates, we expressed our disappointment. We were told the usual chef had a night off. The waitress said she would pass our comments on to the owner - who was standing within earshot. As business owners ourselves, we would go an extra mile to rectify a dissatisfied customer. As we know, give bad service everyone will know. Do something right, and maybe one person will know.
Shame on Sunbreakers - your loss. We tell everyone of our experience - and will never come back.
