Sundowner Breakwall Tourist Park

Sundowner Breakwall is my home away from home! I have stayed there countless times and staff are always so great and of course it is right on the beach. I usually head up to Port Macquarie around Christmas time just in time to enjoy Fotsun at the park, but I always stay a few extra days to soak up the sun in Port Mac!

Have stayed at Sundowner numerous times but was very disappointed with the accomodation this time, booked the Bayside cabin, (the most expensive) on arrival we opened the door to be met with a dreadful smell (I think it was from a dirty mop being used to wash the floor), there was a broom leaning against the wall but blocking the hall way, like it had been dumped there, the curtains had most of the hooks missing so they did not hang properly and it was hard to cover the windows for privacy, the front screen door had a rip in it, the television had an electrical short, (both the screen door and TV were replaced immediately upon me reporting it to reception), there were marks on all the walls, in the bathroom above the mirror one of the makeup lights was not working and in the main bedroom one of the reading lights was not working, in the shower you could see someone had bothered to wipe it over but it was not clean and had soap buildup on the tiles.. ...read more

Wonderful location, spoiled by the accommodation. Expensive. Mixed accommodation standards, but not very clean anywhere - especially the floors. Some friends had reasonable accommodation. We had a 'small ensuite cabin' with shabby, overly worn fitout that desperately needs a revamp and update. Would think about staying again, but only in clean updated accommodation.
