Sunshine Castle
The Sunshine Castle offers excitement, enchantment, and education as you pass through its doors of this Norman style castle with medieval additions, complete with moat, turrets, towers and drawbridge.
A visit to the castle is ideal for a family outing or a fun experience for young and old, and there are a variety of special events throughout the year which bring its history alive. The Sunshine Castle is open daily and was first built to exhibit fairytales and dolls 35 years ago. The more recent accumulation of medieval armoury is proudly displayed on the castle walls.
Children are sent on the famous Castle treasure hunt and receive a free treat from the Kings treasure. Young and old are only bound by their imaginations and the Castle Inn café serves delicious snacks and great coffee. The gift shop offers an array of collectible treasures and toys, Sunshine Castle merchandising and some unique medieval artifacts and armoury to turn your home into your very own castle.

An enchanting day out for the whole family. From the minute you walk through the entrance you are warped into a medieval experience from the staff who add to the authenticity in their medieval costumes and the opportunity to dress up yourself and be a queen or knight for the day. For the kids (or the big kids) you can participate in a treasure hunt & enjoy a little gift for participating. Not only a bit of fun but educational for the whole family with plenty of information on medieval weaponry, religion, lifestyle and the dreaded dungeon.
After walking around the castle you are sure to work up an appetite & the onsite Castle Inn Cafe provides a great menu to satisfy. Indulge in the castle lambshanks or the delightful and hearty German sausage platter (for 2) or a selection of cakes and coffee of something simple is more to the liking.
