Surf Coast Shire
As one of the fastest growing regional municipalities in the State, Surf Coast Shire is experiencing significant growth and change. Residents and visitors alike enjoy the dramatic coastal scenery and superb lifestyle.
The Shire is located in southwest Victoria, 20 minutes from Geelong and 65 minutes from Melbourne. It has an area of 1556km2 with some 55kms of coastline and the start of the fabulous Great Ocean Road defining its southern boundary.

The main population centres include Torquay, well known for its surf related industries and Bells Beach; Winchelsea,gateway to the fertile Western District; leafy Anglesea; and the beautiful resort town of Lorne.

OK so you think, council staff - all the same everywhere. Well as some one with experience as a local government councillor (recent past) I wish to praise the staff here for ever being friendly and supportive when I have been in, and they never knew anything except I was a local property owner.
